The Balearic islands take in the popular resort islands of Mallorca and Ibiza. I can’t speak for the latter, but I simply adore Mallorca. Even though I live in Spain I take the chance to holiday in Mallorca at least once a year.
The island is obviously Spanish but something about it is different from mainland Spain, in a nicer way….
Costa de la Luz literally means ‘Coast of Light’ and when you visit there you will see why. The air is unnaturally clear and seems infused with a warm glow.

Costa Calida is in the Murcia region and is well worth a visit. Though not one of the traditional holiday resorts it is fast becoming one of the most popular.
Not as spoilt as the Costa Blanca region, definitely recommended:

Long the favourite of English tourists Costa Blanca remains one of the most popular of all Spanish destinations.
Don’t for one minute think that the stereotypical tourist resort is all you will find there, get away from the beach hotels and you will find a myriad of charming self catering apartments and villas waiting for you:
Costa del Azahar is part of the Valencia region, possibly Spain’s most up and coming tourist area.
Highly recommended and very popular. Recent major events have been the 32nd America’s Cup Yacht Racing and the start of the annual Valencian Formula One Grand Prix.
Accommodation can be very hard to find at times so start looking now:
The Costa del Sol is at the very southern end of Spain and is famed for long hot summers, cool mild winters, lovely beaches and warm seas.
